Easy methods to judge the quality of PPR pipe

PPR pipe and fittings have been widely used in modern building water supply and drainage system, and other construction, municipal, industrial and agricultural fields. When we order the PPR pipe and fittings for ourselves or other possible projects, pipe quality should be the first point to concern and inspect. Apart from these possible professional test in lab, methods as below also can be used for pipe quality inspection: .
1, Pipe appearance:  PPR pipe with excellent quality, its color should be uniform and no other colors. At present, available color for PPR pipe and fittings are white, green and gray and so on. One point we should know is that there is no relationship between PPR pipe quality and its colors. Usually for the PPR pipe with good quality, its inside and outside should be smooth, no air bubbles and obvious depression, trench and other defects.

2, Touching. PPR pipe with excellent quality, it must be made of 100% raw material and color master, no other recycled materials. Its texture is pure with smooth surface. Generally speaking, bad PPR pipe is glossy.

3, The smell.  PPR pipe with excellent quality, its material is polypropylene. There is no other smell from the pipe; but for bad quality pipe, its smell will make people unpleasant;

4, The hardness. Check the pipe hardness by hand. For PPR pipe with excellent quality, it is hard to make the pipe deformed by hand. If the PPR pipe is deformed easily, it cannot be the real PPR pipe. Of course, this is not the only standard.

5, The wall thickness. Measuring with vernier caliper, you can know if the PPR pipe is produced as the requirements you need. Good pipe should be with right thickness to match its working pressure. Usually the PPR pipe should be made according to national standard, such as GB/T 15874 or DN8077/8078.

6, The sound. Listen carefully when the PPR pipe is falling naturally, if the landing sound is dull, that should be real PPR pipe; or it will be the fake pipe.
